Chicago, IL
- Food: Just breakfast at home
- Souvenirs: Nothing but photos
- Sites: Famous lion statues outside the Art Institute of Chicago
- Can’t miss photo op: A photo at each lion, which are each slightly different

Wilmington, IL
- Food: Ate at the Launching Pad Drive-in where the Gemini Giant is located. For reference it was about 10ish in the morning and I had a soft pretzel and my partner had a mango ice cream. We were living it up on this road trip.
- Souvenirs: They had a penny press!!! I’ve been collecting crushed pennies since I can remember. I was more excited for the penny than the Rt 66 souvenir pins and stickers we got.
- Sites: Gemini Giant statue, Launching Pad
- Hidden Gem: Penny press
- Can’t miss photo op: Standing under the Gemini Giant on his pedestal

Atlanta, IL
- Food: Ate at the Palms Cafe. We both ordered a BLT with fries. I also had a coffee to go with the cherry pie we split.
- Souvenirs: All the pins! No penny press in this town, but in their thrift store I bought a very random token allegedly used in the 50s as an old trade token from Ary’s Thrist Parlor.
- Sites: Paul Bunyan holding a hot dog statue, thrift store, Palms Cafe, Atlanta library, 100 year old millstones
- Hidden Gem: Atlanta library
- Can’t miss photo op: Standing by one of the most random statues you will ever see
