Traveler’s Notebook – Route 66
I traveled the Illinois portion of Route 66 as a day trip. Since I’m a Chicago native I just hopped on Interstate 55 in Chicago, IL and followed it south to Atlanta, IL. One day I will take 2 weeks and experience the full historic Route 66. Until then this day trip was just the taste I needed.

Even though this was just a day trip I still did a lot. Enough that I could fill a good portion of a Traveler’s notebook. Admittedly, I like to write in my notebooks during the actual trip, but that wasn’t the case for this one. Instead when I got home I documented all we did through pictures, stories, and of course sketches!
Watch the video below for a flip through of this Route 66 adventure.
This was such a nice little road trip we took and was fun to document.
Have you traveled any part of Route 66? If so, let me know in the comments below. I’d love to hear about your adventures!
Happy Travels,
Laura
