Creative Travelogue: Charmed

If I had a dollar for every time an owl turned into a hot guy on our porch, I’d be rich…

Phoebe Halliwell, Charmed, Season 3: Magic Hour

In the spirit of Halloween I chose one of my favorite witchy shows for my next Creative Travelogue – Charmed (the original…). It’s a fun, touching, supernatural show about three sisters being the most powerful witches of their time. They save the innocent with their gifts and often use the “Power of Three” to fight the big bads.

If you are looking for a show with female empowerment, witches, and a ton of early 2000s nostalgia, then look no further. Each sister had their strengths, but my favorite Halliwell is Phoebe. I couldn’t get enough of the rollercoaster relationship she had with Cole. I can’t put my finger on why she’s my favorite, but she is.

One of the best parts of Charmed is The Book of Shadows. This is the Halliwell spell book passed down from generations. It’s not surprising I love their worn, illustrated book. It was almost like a research book since each generation of Halliwell documented evil doers they encountered, their traits, and a spell to vanquish them. Each Book of Shadows contributor knew they would be helping the next generation learn from their experiences. The book was the inspiration for a couple creative projects:

Happy travels and stay creative,
